FOKUS

 

Appositive adalah noun atau noun phrase yang menerangkan (menamai ulang) noun yang lain. Appositive dapat diletakkan di depan, tengah, atau akhir kalimat.

Contoh:

 

·         The insect, a cockroach, is crawling across the kitchen table.

·         The Duncan sofa, a colonial masterpiece, is highly valued in today’s antique furniture market.

·         Mars, the fourth planet from the Sun, has been a source of human fascination for untold generations of sky gazers.

·         Chopin, a famous Polish composer, died at Place Vendome, a famous Paris square.

·         A hot-tempered tennis player, Robbie charged the umpire and tried to crack the poor man’s skull with a racket
